International Technology, Meetings and Incentives Conference

January 10 -15, 2002
Egypt
Visit the Great Pyramids of Egypt, one of the seven wonders of the world, cruise On The Nile and take pre and post - conference trips to Cairo, Abu Simbel, Jordan and Greece

CONFERENCE THEME:
getting back to business
The September 11 terror attacks in America changed the meeting landscape dramatically. In purely financial terms, the impact has been staggering. Hotels, airlines, travel agents, tour operators, meeting planners, incentive organizers and other meeting suppliers suffered enormous losses as travel plummeted and meetings and conventions were cancelled or postponed. We cannot let the terrorists win. We need to get back to business. We are in this together and we need to pull together. This conference will focus on strategies to do just that.

Important Information About Egypt
About the Pyramids
The American Institute of Pyramidology believes that there are indications of divine inspiration and prophetic message in the pyramids. Many scholars think the pyramid shape was an important religious statement for the Egyptians, perhaps symbolizing the slanting rays of the sun. Some speculate the sloping sides were intended to help the soul of the king climb to the sky and join the gods. It's believed to have taken 100,000 laborers about 20 years to build the mammoth Khufu pyramid, using an estimated 2.3 million blocks.

CONCERNED ABOUT TRAVEL TO EGYPT? We check with the US State Department and other authorities regularly to make sure we do not put our attendees in harm's way. We have been assured that there is no indication that travelers to Egypt are in particular danger and therefore has not been included in the Updated Travel Warning Bulletin issued by the US Department of State. Travel Warnings are issued when the US State Department recommends that Americans avoid a certain country. Check here.

We checked with the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and were told that the government has the radical movement in Egypt under control. They have seriously cracked down on members of this group and put them behind bars. Strict security measures have been in place in tourist attractions and tour busses since 1997 - but they have doubled security since the September 11 attack in the USA. They have put sympathizers of militant groups under notice that the government is watching them closely and attacks on tourists and citizens will be punished severely.
