 Diego Fernandez de Cordoba 

Has developed a career of more than 40 years in the tourism industry, first as a hotel management executive with Hilton International, Hotels and then as founder and Managing Director of his own companies, which include Congrexpo Internacional and Congrex Costa Rica, promoters and organizers of international congresses, conventions and exhibitions, as well as Meeting & Show Technologies, a supplier of technological support services, Metro Tours, a DMC specializing in meetings and incentive groups, and Rossana Uribe & Asociados / Porter Novelli, a public relations and marketing consulting firm.

For the past 30 years, has been professionally responsible for the planning, marketing, organization and coordination of more than 300 international congresses, conventions, expositions and trade shows in Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

He is a currently the President of the Panama Convention and Visitors Bureau and has served as member of the Board of Directors of several associations including the Panama Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the Panama Association of Professional Congress Organizers and the Panama Chamber of Tourism., as well as founder and First Vice President of the Latin American Confederation of Professional Congress Organizers - COCAL, Member of the Board of Advisors of the Connected International Meeting Professionals Association – CIMPA and past Chairman of the Institute for International Standards in the Meeting and Exhibition Industry – ISMI

After selling his company to the European Congrex Group, he is know a consultant on destination MICE marketing and meeting and exhibition infrastructure and services development for projects in several Lain American cities.

Mr. Fernandez de Cordoba has participated as a speaker in several international meetings and seminars on topics related to his areas of expertise, in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela, as well as in the United States.
